Product Marketing Manager

This is a core role at the heart of all operations, uniting product strategy to the sales & marketing activities that help us achieve our company revenue goals. As the chief advocate of our product, you understand our customer’s personas, their pain points, and the specific feature sets used to eliminate those pains better than anyone else on the marketing team.

In this role, you will:

  • Rally marketing, sales, and customer success team members around our product’s unique value — both how it helps customers and stands out from the competition
  • Lead outward marketing communication of all new features to leads and customers. 
    • Work with Q/A & Product Management to understand the timing of new feature releases.
    • Use lifecycle segmentation to send tailored messages with goals to increase feature awareness with leads and feature utilization with customers.
    • Assess campaign effectiveness, and report back with suggested improvements.
  • Articulate the benefits of our features through thought leadership, website pages, drip emails, and even sales collateral.
  • Support lead generation and nurture campaigns by hosting speaking events (live and online) that illustrate how our product helps retailers scale.
  • Establish us as experts by driving product review campaigns with our known promotors & evangelists on third-party review sites.
  • Boost our credibility & inspire confidence in our product by identifying and crafting powerful case studies.
  • Update feature capabilities on third-party review sites as our product evolves (Capterra, FB, Google).
  • Stay in tune with the issues our customer's care about by managing our social communities (CSVIP) and providing guidance that reinforces CommentSold best practices.
  • Conduct 1-on-1 product training with all new employees to reduce their onboarding time and help communicate the value of our product with a consistent voice.
  • Prepare and deliver internal training and sales tools that help sales and customer success be more efficient and effective (i.e. sales documentation, product video tours) as our product evolves.
  • Assist senior sales members on sales & partner demonstrations to provide deeper dives into product capabilities as requested.
  • Positively affect trade show ROIs by providing fun, interactive, hands-on demonstrations, showcasing all of our top features.
  • Regularly compare features and conduct SWOT analyses of key targets and report key findings. Be the expert on our competitors’ features, pricing structures and how they are positioned.
  • Setup & monitor automated user surveys throughout the customer’s journey to identify training, feature and messaging opportunities over time and report key findings.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • 5+years of product marketing experience and 10+ years in a customer-facing role.
  • Extraordinary training abilities with proven success in increasing feature adoption with employees and customers.
  • Enjoys connecting people with the solutions they need.
  • Solid knowledge of current marketing automation best practices.
  • Strong understanding of the buyer’s journey and customer lifecycle management.
  • Strong public speaker, and comfortable in front of large groups, live or virtual.
  • Proven project management skills to drive deadlines and results.
  • Flexible with the ability to respond quickly in an ever-changing environment.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and provide long and short term summaries with brevity.
  • Exceptional ROI-tracking skills, able to prove what is –or isn’t—working.
  • Experience conducting interviews, setting up surveys and analyzing results.
  • Excellent people and management skills to establish productive working relationships at all levels, both in-person and remotely with colleagues, customers & partners in other locations.
  • Working knowledge of our systems, Google Suite, Intercom, HubSpot, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Typeform (or equivalent survey tools).
